History: White Pond is on the Harwich-Dennis border. It is a small, clear kettle pond with a sandy bottom named for the unique way the light reflects off the water’s surface.  It was previously known as Aunt Lizzie Robbins Pond, named after a member of the Robbins family who settled in Harwich in the 18th century.  The shoreline consists of pine-oak woodlands with some private housing.  In low water years, an abundance of rare Plymouth Gentian emerges along the shore.  Harwich Conservation Trust is naturalizing a small property on the shoreline and recently installed bluebird boxes.
