History: Andrew’s Pond, also known as Katie’s Pond, is a small kettle pond near the juncture of the Cape Cod Rail Trail and Queen Anne Road.  The shoreline on the north and east sides is highly developed with private houses.  The west shoreline is on the William and Barbara Hacker Wildlife Sanctuary managed by Harwich Conservation Trust.  The name Katie’s Pond derives from a local resident.  The name Andrew’s Pond likely comes from Andrew Clarke, a local farmer and shepherd who owned the marshes in the area.  The pond is habitat to a variety of fish, turtles, frogs and birds.  There is a trail that goes to the pond from the Cape Cod Rail Trail.
