History:  Paddocks Pond is a large, shallow, highly vegetated, spring-fed pond.  It is surrounded by woodlands, thickets and private residences.  The pond hosts an abundance of wildlife including snapping turtles, sunfish, pickerel, yellow perch and the catfish-like hornpout.  During dry years, the pond transforms into mudflats.  It freezes in winter.
